This is possibly the worst projector I have ever tested (and I've tested many). Poor Color, Low Resolution, and very very dim projector... and ... very loud fan. We're sending it back. I hope this review saves the reader some time. Nothing to see here... move along.

For the price, I don't think you could beat this. I purchased it for my pre-teen's backyard sleepover. Wasn't the best quality, but the girls didn't complain. I live in a large city where I can only block so much light, so I think this would do even better with no lights around. Have used it a few times and am happy with it. Hooked it up to my blu-ray dvd player and a couple of decent speakers. It works, and as long as you aren't expecting a great quality picture, you will be happy with it. I don't reccomend a dark pictured movie.

After doing a ton of research on projectors, I finally settled on the Olens Technology XPJ Personal Entertainment Projector. There were several factors that came in to my decision to purchase this projector, including price, bulb cost, weight, and picture quality.

Price is a big one. I did not find a single other projector that was comparable to the quality of this projector anywhere near this price range. I'm now the owner of two of these projectors, both which I purchased for between $150 - $180. Take the time to watch some videos of people using projectors on YouTube and you'll find that most of the other projectors in this price range deliver a much worse image.

Image quality is great, not as good as a high end projector you're going to drop a few hundred bucks for, but the quality was better than I expected. The picture is clear and the colors relatively accurate, even though I'm projecting across about twenty feet onto a plain white wall with an uneven surface. Keep in mind that text isn't really easy to read, subtitles are ok as long as they have enough contrast, but you probably wouldn't expect to use this to blow up your computer screen really large and be able to read it. This probably wouldn't be so bad if you were keeping the projector closer to your surface. A dark room is important. The picture washes out quickly the more light there is in the room, you'll be in great shape if you use it in a very dark room.

Replacement bulbs for this projector are available directly from the manufacturer for $30, which is leaps and bounds cheaper than you will find a projector bulb for any other model. Replacing the bulb is a delicate, but simple process, and the bulbs last a very long time.

The menus are simple and intuitive enough. The only really important takeaway I got from reading their manual was how to power the projector safely so you don't overheat anything inside. The rest is very easy to figure out.

I originally purchased this projector while coming up with ideas for party decor, and after going through tons and tons of lighting ideas, I got the idea to have a wall become a living backdrop for a Halloween party. While I purchased it for a one time event, I found myself using it to watch movies, TV, and taking it to other houses to set up big screens for other video projections. It's lightweight and fairly sturdy, it travels well.

There is a sheet that comes in the box for the projector telling you that if you have problems to talk to the manufacturer instead of the store where you bought it, and the manufacturer is as responsive and knowledgeable as you could hope for. The first projector I bought has older firmware on it, which causes the menu to lock up when it is in PC mode. I put in a call to the manufacturer and had a call back within an hour after leaving voicemail with an explanation of my problem and a temporary workaround. I'll need to send the projector back into the manufacturer to have the firmware updated, but their support person said that while I'll have to pay to ship the projector to them, they will fix it and ship it back at their expensive within a week. Even after the cost of shipping the projector back, I still consider this a great deal.

Bought this projector after reading good reviews but was dissapointed.
First off, I needed the voltage to be 220-240v but it is 120v.
Was very pixely and the color was SO off! It had a green tinge to it and playing with the setting didnt help.
After about 5 minutes of it being on, the machine froze and I couldnt even turn it off.
Would not recommend.

Just got this, great picture, great price. Very happy with this purchase - exactly what I wanted. I just used it with my DVD player so far but can't wait to try it with the wii and xbox too.

Based on the reviews here I recommended our school purchase these projectors for our new Mimeo Smartboards. We were so disappointed to find that they are not bright enough at all! We need to be able to leave our classroom lights on while using the smartboard, and with the lights on you cannot see anything on the whiteboard at all.
If you need a projector in a lighted room, you are going to need to purchase a higher priced projector.

Good picture..we have only used it indoors at nighttime so far but look forward to using it outdoors at night. My only concern is that the speakers are not very loud. My laptop speakers were louder so we use those instead. Darkness is essential..this would probably not work for a day time power point unless you were in a room with total darkness. We have enjoyed our movie nights and look forward to more.

I just got this from amazon.com. I wasn't looking for a high end projector. Just something to enjoy with the family.I plugged it up an it immediately failed to work. The picture would not display and the menu settings were no accessible. DO NOT BUY THIS. save your money and buy a nicer projector. I've learned you get what you pay for...and this is a sorry product. Hoping that amazon will refund my money. Im saving up for a nicer projector...i suggest you do the same.

I ordered this projector to make simple presentations for a new class I am teaching. I just needed something basic to show a few slides on the wall. After researching online for a few hours and debating on different models, my budget ruled that I buy this one.

I got it, took it out of the package and within minutes was looking at a big screen on my wall. Not only does it outdo itself for presentations - movie nights are killer! And all my buddies are jealous. Looks like I'll be host to movie nights from here on out.

Oh, and to add the icing on the cake - they include an extra lamp in the packaging. Come on, you can't beat a deal like this!
